Blu-ray Disc replication

Blu-ray

Want to know how a Blu-ray Disc is manufactured? Do you even care?

If you do, you might want to check out Charlie Brewer's illustrated report over at News.com.au, taken from deep inside the bowels of one of Sony's "Blu-ray factories", this one in Huntingwood, New South Wales. Eagle-eyed individuals will also be able to spot evidence to suggest that Michael Bay's, erm, opus, Bad Boys II is in the pipeline. Yeah, I can hardly contain my bladder.

Updated Friday, July 31, 2009 at 03:26 PM: As pointed out by site visitor Dirk Diggler, the Bad Boys II disc art is in fact for the long-available standard definition release. I guess the plant is also responsible for pressing DVDs.

Semi interesting. The only Bad Boys II thing I could see, was the artwork plates and that was clearly for DVD.

Ah, my mistake. It should have occurred to me that the plant would also manufacture DVDs.
