I wonder how the Ichi the Killer BD looks. As I recall, it's a pretty crummy-looking movie, and I think may have been shot on video.

Anyway, you should definitely pick up ELECTION. Great flick (no character name pun intended), razor sharp dialogue, not at all a teen-oriented movie -- I think you'd enjoy it.

I thought Election was rather boring, that coming from someone who usually likes To's movies, even Throwdown.

The prequel Ichi-1 was shot on DV. Ichi the Killer was shot on 35mm.

Media Blasters actually produced a better looking DVD than Geneon Japan did the second time around, though the R2 wins on audio for the 1.5 Mb DTS track.
