These always end up sounding snobby ("you should buy!"), but hey... I certainly recommend OUTLANDER, I think that one will surprise you. It's already a bit of a fanboy favorite, and the writers landed CONAN and a ton of other projects due to it.

KAGEMUSHA, because, well, it's Kurosawa.

DEXTER should be right up your alley, perhaps once you finish the other 15 shows you're currently juggling.

I've actually been considering looking into Dexter for some time. I've never actually seen a single episode, but I keep hearing about how good it is. Maybe I'll pick it up when the BDs come down a bit in price.

As for Kagemusha, it's unlikely that I'll be picking it up. I actually bought the Criterion Collection DVD back when it was released, and must confess to have found it a snooze-fest. Kurosawa is a bit of a grey area for me, I must confess, and I know it's said that Kagemusha generally isn't recommended for a neophyte. Plus, having seen screen captures at DVD Beaver and Blu-ray.com, the transfer doesn't exactly look stunning to my eyes, so I doubt I'd buy the disc on the basis of eye candy alone.

Outlander... never heard of it, actually, and going by its synopsis on IMDB it doesn't really sound like my thing. I'm certainly not going to rule it out, though. Clearly it's a bit of a cult hit, which has certainly sparked my curiosity. We'll see...
