Borders - well, the Glasgow Buchanan Street branch, at any rate - is selling all of its BD titles for £9.99. That's right, all of them. Even brand new releases. Coupled with a "20% off your purchase" discount that I got for filling out an online customer feedback questionnaire, I went on a little spree today during my lunch break and picked up a bunch of interesting-looking titles while the offer lasted.

By the way, the UK release of The Duchess, unlike its American counterpart, has not been scissored by the MPAA.

Funny trivia: Catherine Deneuve walked out of Mario Bava's Danger: Diabolik when she refused to do partial nudity in the sex scenes with John Phillip Law (she was later replaced with the much better Marisa Mell). What movie did she do as soon as she landed on France? Belle de jour.

While I think Brad Anderson's films (and his MOH episode) are all consistently, I think the only truly great film he's made is The Machinist (I'd go so far as to call it a masterpiece).

That being said, that cover art for Transsiberian is really kick ass and trumps the lame US BD art.
