R.I.P. Roy E. Disney (1930-2009)

One of the guiding lights behind the late 80s/early 90s Disney animation renaissance is dead.

Roy E. Disney, nephew to Walt Disney and ever-present figure at the Walt Disney Company, passed away this morning at the age of 79. Disney had been battling stomach cancer for nearly a year.

More at Toon Zone.

In somewhat happier news, The Princess and the Frog, the studio's return to hand drawn animation, is #1 at the US box office.

Did a comment you tried to post accidentally get eaten by the spam filter? It happens from time to time. I get upwards of 200 spam comments every day and unfortunately don't have the time to weed through all of them in case something genuine ended up there by mistake.
