Blu Ray of Vinyan. Nice. Not sure if you've seen it yet, but it's a lovely film. (I mean, it's as lovely as ugly can be.)

Have just spent the last couple of hours helping my little one make a Lego garage. Boy, you never grow out of Lego!

Happy Xmas, Michael!

I've got the UK-release of Them. Worst Blu-Ray transfer I've yet seen - I'm sorry to say.

Damn it, that'll teach me not to do my research beforehand! I'll see if I can return it.

Wim:

I concur. I've just taken a look at it and it looks like a bloody upconvert to me. To say that I'm not pleased would be... well, you know the rest.

Glad to see you landed some fine swag (although I'm assuming THE STRANGERS on Blu-Ray is purely for research purposes as an interesting companion piece to the original ILS as this US re-imagining is awful. WANTED is also a mess of a movie but I'm sure it will look a beautiful mess in High-Def, lol).

I too was given THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO as a gift. Look forward to reading along with you in preparation for upcoming UK theatrical release of the film adaptation.

Sorry to leave blue news about Vinyan. Thinking about it, I should have left it a day to not put a damper on Xmas. I must say I don't know the accuracy of the info - just passing it on.

Wanted is a real guilty pleasure for me. I got it last Xmas, and I think I watched it about three times this year. It's a hoot and I don't think you'll be disappointed in the transfer.

I got the Wanted graphic novel afterwards, and was surprised. It is so totally different from the film, making one of the making-of featurettes (where Mark Millar tries to convince you the film is faithful to the comic) a bit laughable. Unusually enough, I actually prefer the film to the mean-spirited original.
