My impression after a single viewing is that the movie was constantly amusing and often downright funny - certainly far above my expectations. Of course, I am notoriously easy to please and also have the advantage of not being a bitter animator but rather just a regular non-demanding plebe.

I was ready to be disappointed by this movie as the story has nothing to do with the book but found it really really well done with some great jokes. I'll wait for the proper 3-D version though.
