Any thoughts on the results?

By the way, Mr. James Cameron, given your insistence that AVATAR is "not an animated film" and that "every nuance, every tiny bit of the performance that you see on the screen, was created by the actors", does that mean you'll be giving back the award the film won for best visual effects? No, didn't think so.

I'm glad that piece of shit movie, A Serious Man, did not win any major awards. I think the critics were completely wrong in their near universal praise of the movie. I felt like Job watching the movie.

Here are two of the reviews I could relate with:

I have The Hurt Locker in my blockbuster list where it's been sitting for a few weeks now, i suspect i'll get it in about six weeks time since it took about 8 weeks for Harry Potter and Terminator Salvation to be sent out.

Dead Snow is either a very popular title or Blockbuster have one copy to share among us all as thats been near the top of my list for a very long time now.

Shame that the latest news suggests no Avatar in 3D this year and only a 2D edition in June but it does makes me wonder why they do this and i suspect it's a wait for market penetration and for the hardware to be released and bought but if they don't provide the software then who is going to buy the hardware.

What other Coen brothers films do you deem masterpieces?

I can't answer for Tyler and i haven't seen A Serious Man but Raising Arizona is my favourite comedy film and that's directed by the Coen brothers.

I also consider No Country For Old Men and Miller's Crossing to both be modern day masterpieces while i also enjoyed some other films such as The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Blood Simple and O' Brother Where Art Thou?

They have had some horrible misfires though such as The Ladykillers remake.

I haven't seen Intolerable Cruelty or Burn After Reading yet.

It's all about THE BIG LEBOWSKI... each frame, each line of dialogue. Perfection.

Your list reminds me, I need to watch BLOOD SIMPLE again before Yimou's, uh, "remake" arrives. Looks bonkers, can't wait.

I feel a little left out of this, having never seen a single Coen brothers movie (yeah, I know!). I do have BURN AFTER READING sitting on the shelf, though, so I'll be remedying that before too long.
