A BD release of the Disney classic (not the naff-looking Tim Burton version currently playing in cinemas) appears to be coming out in Italy on May 2010:

If it follows the tradition of previous European releases it will lack the original mono track. Tempting though, but one might be better off waiting for a US release.

Yeah, the lack of mono audio is a pain, although given Disney's unusual decision to release many of their films on BD in Europe and elsewhere before North America (see also MONSTERS, INC. and DUMBO, among others), it's something I may have to grit my teeth and bear.

They don't seriously leave mono tracks off the BD version?
Usually there is just a single SKU of these titles for the entire world, so the disc is probably going to be the same as what eventually goes out in the US.

The European releases of PINOCCHIO, SNOW WHITE and SLEEPING BEAUTY are definitely missing their mono tracks.

At least the European edition of Pinocchio have the missing dialogue although having said that the missing dialogue from my American disc is not really missed that much by me although being a collector i would rather have it on the disc.

I think Sleeping Beauty which was a 70mm release was originally stereo on it's cinema debut and only mono on the 35mm cinema prints.

You're right about SLEEPING BEAUTY, FoxyMulder. There is no mono track on the US version or on any other. However, the US version DOES have the original theatrical soundtrack in Dolby Digital 4.0 (640 Kbps), which I believe is missing from the European releases.
