Just arrived...

An unexpected mega haul today. First, the two discs that I'd ordered online:

BD

LUFTSLOTTET SOM PRENGTES (BD, Nordisk Film, Region ABC, Norway)

Known in its native Sweden as LUFTSLOTTET SOM SPRÄNGDES and in English-speaking territories as THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST. I won't be watching it until I've read the novel (which I haven't started yet), but I took a look at the BD this evening and I'm sorry to report that it doesn't look pretty. See Lyris Lite for more information.

BD

TRIANGLE (BD, Icon, Region B, UK)

Now, the discs I picked up at HMV today in a sale:

BD

36 (BD, Palisades Tartan, Region B, UK)

BD

LADY VENGEANCE (BD, Palisades Tartan, Region B, UK)

BD

A TALE OF TWO SISTERS (BD, Palisades Tartan, Region B, UK)

BD

THIRST (BD, Palisades Tartan, Region B, UK)

BD

SIN CITY (BD, Buena Vista, Region ABC, UK)

A Tale of Two Sisters is a ripoff even on sale. The Korean DVD looks better.

If the Sin City encode looks anything like the U.S. release, you're in for a treat. If it looks like the Alliance release (Canada), not so much.

I thought "Triangle" was a pretty good flick. Nice performance by Melissa George.

If Lady Vengeance and Thirst end up looking great, I may have to finally cave in and buy a Region B Blu-ray player.

Wow, cool stuff. :) I'll wait a bit to see if any hi-res screencaps surface. May even wait until it's available everywhere else so I can get it $20 cheaper from Amazon, but that's a long ways to wait, ha ha.
