Starcraft II beta invites

Games

Today's your lucky day (potentially). I have two invites to the STARCRAFT II: WINGS OF LIBERTY beta test to give away to those whom I deem worthy. In order to participate, you must have a Battle.net account (don't worry, it's free).

For a chance to win one of these keys, reply to this post with a poem about why you deserve it. The two people who write what I deem to be the best poems by 8 PM on Friday night will be the proud recipients.

Good luck!

The high templar conjures a storm of psi,
And mutalisk entrails fall from the sky.
Pieces of carapace litter the ground,
A brood put to death is a beautiful sound.

But hidden expansions leave far more to fear,
Now a hydralisk army sneaks in from the rear.
Lurkers burrow, there's no turning back,
Nexus and probes under heavy attack.

Protoss is dying despite their persistence,
But now here's Jim Raynor to offer assistance.
Battlecruiser ready and tanks looking mean,
Its Terran's mechanical war machine.

The smell of burning Zerg flesh fills the air,
Hatcheries feel thunder called from the air.
When marines and dark templars fight side by side,
This alien scum has nowhere to hide!

I imagine you'll be up all night judging the entries. How soon will we know the winners? ;)

Well, I only have two contenders so far... although the competition remains open until 8 PM GMT tonight, so there's still time for a surprise late entry! :D

Congratulations to the two poets who participated. The turn-out was disappointing, but at least this way everyone's a winner. You should both have received your email invites by now.

I own StarCraft and Brood War and yet I've only played the former for about 15 minutes once. Even though I wanted to check out the new beta, I haven't played the old games enough to warrant an entry into your little contest.

Did a comment you tried to post accidentally get eaten by the spam filter? It happens from time to time. I get upwards of 200 spam comments every day and unfortunately don't have the time to weed through all of them in case something genuine ended up there by mistake. If one of your posts gets incorrectly flagged as spam, email me at m.r.mackenzie[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll do my best to retrieve it.
