KICK-ASS (BD, Universal, Region ABC, UK)

Kick-Ass didn't kick my ass. I was pretty disappointed because it ended up devolving into a generic superhero movie by the last act, instead of a satire about how nothing would ever work out he way they do in the super-hero movies and I guess comic books. I also had a problem with the fact that it never seemed to find the right tone. It would be upbeat and jokey, then supposedly serious, then raunchy, then didactic. It made the dark comedy in it not really work for me.

Loved this. I'll agree with the previous poster that it does go all generick superhero towards the end and get a bit ridiculous, but by then I was already fully invested and will excuse this small gripe. Hit-Girl remains the real reason to watch this one though. She's just so ... wrong. Lol.

I've been meaning to watch this film, I've read the lead guy wasn't as good as his co-stars.

And now for something completely different, do you have the Godfather Blu-ray collection? I was watching Part 2 last night and it froze at 1:41:29. Apparently its a common issue (with BSP 2032), I've sent loads of emails out just waiting for replies. Fingers crossed I can organise a replacement disc.

Just watched this a few nights ago. I didn't care for it much at all. I get that Nic Cage was going for an Adam West type vibe, I just didn't find it very funny. While the little girl had some funny lines, I didn't find her performance to be too stellar. The rest of the cast was forgettable.

Action was fun though.
