That truck is excellent (and massive!) I got it for my birthday last year and spent about 15 hours putting it all together (I'm not the quickest Lego builder). I'm especially liking the way that Technic and the motor equipment seems to have evolved since I last played with it back in the late 90s.

Yeah, I must admit the main draw of these Technic sets is that I can look at the end product and have no idea how it's actually going to be put together (whereas if you look at your average Lego set you can more or less figure out what goes where without the manual). I get all my enjoyment from the actual building process, and if that process throws a few unexpected surprises at me along the way, so much the better. It took me a couple of days to finish, though I wasn't exactly building non-stop from sunrise to sunset.

Unfortunately, I've clearly made a mistake somewhere along the way, because the little yellow "legs" that are supposed to extend outward when you switch on the power don't move at all. No doubt I'll tear the whole thing apart and start from scratch before too long, but it's a pain nonetheless.

The problem I had with the build was the pistons for the engine - I'm never very good at putting those parts together properly.

It had been years since I last got some Lego so I, without intending to, ending up spending an entire day on it. I was hoping to have taken it slowly but got a little carried away! I have downloaded the other model that can be built from the Lego site and hopefully might try doing that one some time!
