The screenshots on Blu-ray.com give me the impression that this movie is slightly oversharpened. Let me know what you think after you watch the whole thing.

Excellent movie. It's very sharply written and has excellent dialogue which is quick and snappy.

I can't remember what your philosophy is on biopics. But I've heard some people complain that the story isn't like what happened in real life. To me, its accuracy is not much of an issue. I doubt Zuckerberg is that quick witted and abrasive in real life, and obviously a lot seems added for dramatic flair. If every biopic were true to life chronicles of the subjects, they'd be boring and meandering and wouldn't make for good movies. One of my favourites of 2010.

I suspected you'd go for this film in a big way. Whilst I appreciate its critical acclaim and concur it is a superbly written/directed film, it isn't up there for me with Fincher's very best work.

I agree, maybe it's not his best, but not by much, I'd say. And it's definitely not his worst. And thankfully, this is everything that BENJAMIN BUTTON wasn't.

We'll have to wait to see what the UK packaging is like - for the US packaging the cover art shown above is a wrap-around card with a plain slip case, the card is easily disposed over for those - a surprising number - who don't like it. Fincher mentions on one of the special features he didn't want the movie to have a "look" - by which I take him to mean he didn't want the superb dialogue-heavy script to be in competition with the visuals, he wanted the audience to pay attention to what was being said, not what they saw. Even so, the PQ is stellar with razor-sharp detail in places, just in a more understated way than is usual for a Fincher movie.
