If for whatever reason you don't get around to doing a review of this in the next few days, at least give it a quick look and post some thoughts here. ;)

Always appreciate your input on the HD Argento discs...

Am waiting for Camera Obscura's version to FINALLY appear before I decide whether to upgrade to BU or CO (from my current Arrow bd). One thing that did bother me about the BU release was that the screenshots also seemed zoomed in, as was the Arrow release. Please correct me if incorrect.

The blubrew screenshots of the French bd appeared rather good, and it had FAR more picture info...shame it also had forced subs:

Also the Arrow release (whilst ruined by dnr), seemed brighter than the BU bd version and that's actually the look that I've become rather accustomed to, after thoroughly loving the previous Italian dvd. Which version is correct in terms of brightness?...are both Arrow and BU similarly image cropped?...and when is the Camera Obscura bd arriving?? Lots of questions I know. :)

Any advice or info appreciated.

Definitely looking forward to reading your review on this one!

Regarding the Arrow, I don't think this one is going to be a close race. Looks like we're getting into a pattern of fun packaging and more extras (Arrow) vs. boring packaging but superior feature presentation (BU)

At the end of the day, the presentation of the film is most important to me, so unless there are some nasty surprises with BU's Inferno, that's the one that will probably end up in my collection.

I'm also curious about the Camera Obscura release, and far off that is.

I like the BU packaging more Arrow's. BU's is simple, and uses the poster art. That is exactly what I want.

You hit the nail on the head Bleddyn, until Arrow get their act together i'll not buy their releases, i really care more for the main feature quality than any amount of extra content.

Isn't it funny how Arrow fans give them such an easy ride all over the internet forums, no wonder they continue the same release policy.

It really is! The fan base is like one of those bizarre cults, isn't it? You can just imagine the most hardcore devotees waiting on the street outside the company’s office, dressed in mumus and swaying giddily in anticipation of the next title announcement.

Arrow really seem to do no wrong in the eyes of the rabid fans, but then I hear that a lot of the more critical comments are removed by forum moderators on CultLabs anyway.

Looking forward to your findings on this one. I decided to wait this one out, to see it would prove an upgrade over the French release.

Despite the extra picture-info on the Wild Side version, the overall brightness seems to be a tad overzealous. BU's release is probably closer to the theatrical presentation in that regard.

A representant of Camera Obscura recently said that yes, it will come, but it just takes a lot of time to make everything as perfect as possible. In terms of colour timing, it will be much closer to the Arrow/Wild Side releases than to the BU.
I still don't know which transfer to prefer...

The CO release is going to be color corrected by the cinematographer (going by what information is available online). So if it is closer to the Arrow/Wild Side, I take it that the look of those is more accurate?

I tried to sign in using the sign in link above and using my Google account, it brought up an error. I'm using the latest version of the Firefox browser.

You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/mt/mt-comments.cgi on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I just wanted to say to the above poster that sometimes cinematographers have been known to change their original vision just because they can and want to, so maybe the Blue Underground is how it should look but the cinematographer decides to alter his original work, i personally think the Arrow releases are sometimes brightened up too much.

Will be interesting to see how this stacks up against the arrow release, especially as its region free.

I believe the CO will be the only BD not to be zoomed in according to the caps I saw. We'll see.
