Didn't realise it was out so soon. Very interested to hear how these compare with the condensed versions - film-wise and Blu-ray-wise.

...and book-wise. As I've said elsewhere, given how much you've written about the books and films on your site, leaving off the Extended Editions will almost be a 'missing chapter.'

Agree with Phil, interested to see how they compare with the other cuts and blus.

Yeah, just watched it. First thoughts: "Haven't I already seen this movie?"

Is this a different trailer to the fine but average one released a couple of months back that everyone wanked over?

Yep, it's a longer, more narrative-based, less abstract one... and it just continues to compound my suspicion that Fincher is bringing nothing new to the tale.

It also left me wondering why Daniel Craig is speaking in his regular accent when nearly all the other English or American actors are affecting a Swedish accent.

Here it is:

They've tweaked the look of it compared to the first teaser. It's now a bit more colourful, especially the 1960s scenes.

Regarding Craig's lack of accent. He basically didn't want to do it, so he didn't have to.

I received this set on Saturday.

Only dipped into the first movie thus far, but I was struck by how nice and film-like it looks, as opposed to Thor,(which I'd watched beforehand), which looks like inconsistently filtered rubbish.

Thor has a lot of CGI and was actually filmed using quite a few different cameras and lenses, that no doubt accounts for its look, i doubt its filtered.

And I can assure you, that some mild filtering IS present. CGI or not.

So mild filtering now makes the entire transfer rubbish, ok well if you say so but if its indeed mild then surely it can't be called rubbish.

Seriously though, is it not possible that the digital intermediate also looks that way and that EVERY single release that hits blu ray has some form of mild filtering applied, even the films that we think are not filtered.
