If you like this - and I did - you should track down the US BD of his earlier film 'Down Terrace', which is also excellent.

I'm afraid I didn't like it at all - possibly the biggest disappointment of the year for me. I found it disjointed, lifeless and completely lacking in any characters I could actually engage with. It was one of those films I wanted very hard to like, but it just left me completely cold and with a nagging feeling that those involved ended up with a bunch of random footage that they somehow had to fashion into something coherent in the editing room. For me at least, they didn't succeed.

I see my prediction that you'd either love it or hate it wasn't entirely inaccurate. As we've discussed previously KILL LIST was very much billed and hyped as THE film at FrightFest and watching it on the big screen with a partisan crowd I found it a refreshingly different take on the usual depiction of your typical English gangsters. Plus I enjoyed the whole bonkers THE WICKER MAN inspired twist the film takes but I'm sure we'll get to chew over these points and more on the next episode of MOVIE MATTERS.

Fingers crossed you enjoy some of the other FrightFest film I thought were good (KIDNAPPED, TROLL HUNTER, SENNENTUNTSCHI: CURSE OF THE ALPS, THE GLASS MAN) in the near future.
