If this looks as shitty as the US set, I r disappoint that you bought it.

The Italian BD for the first film is amazing. Too bad the same studio didn't handle the following two in Italy, since the PQ would've been even better* and they'd be English-friendly. (The Italian BDs for the latter two look good, and way better than the US MGM BDs, but they don't come close to the quality of the first film's PQ.)

Oh, and I see now it was a Christmas gift.

I'd take a dook and throw it in the gifter's face. ;)

First film looks OK even if not as good as the Italian release. But the following two are mangled by sharpening and DNR respectively.

I can also recommend the Italian BD of the first film. The image quality is not perfect, but far preferable to the US BD.

I don't own the BDs of the second and third film, but apparently the Italian discs are better as well, but as Christopher already mentioned unfortunately they are not English-friendly. I am myself considering getting them anyway and trying to watch them with English subs from the Internet.

"Thanks for this blog. The media puts a lot of pressure on us to look a certain way. They define how you should look in order to be attractive"

I don't get how my posts usually go into the spam filter void, but actual spam posts pop up periodically, ha ha.

BobaFett, if you do that and get downloaded subs to sync properly, let me know—I might look into it myself.

Or I'll just keep holding out for two of my favorite movies to get proper releases with the English audio—and hopefully English translations of the Italian audio, since MGM's The Good, the Bad and the Ugly DVD only has English subs for the English audio rather than an actual translation.
