Oh man, this will prove interesting! I'll be damned if they're not both great in their own right. :)

I'm very much looking forward to hearing what your take is with Fincher's film. Needless to say I was surprised and relieved at how much I enjoyed the film and just how good I thought Rooney Mara was as a different interpretation of the Lisbeth Salander character. Clearly we disagree on this point but I thought the Fincher/Mara Salander was closer to how I Imagined the character as written in the Stieg Larsson's novel.

Guess your search for a film you adore in 2011 continues, ha! ha!

Yeah, Salander wins.

Both movies are great, though having seen the Fincher remake the other day I actually thought it came out on top. Considering I was somewhat sceptical, that's quite the feat.

Loved both versions.

Noomi Rapace was excellent, but I think Mara is closer to what my mind pictured while reading the books - young, thin and unconventionally attractive.

Rapace was too good looking, slightly too old looking, and not quite fragile and girlishly small.

The last thing I think Mara has in her favor is her fashion looks more reckless and less self-aware.

Having said all that, I really appreciate both films for what they offer.

If you do not like the remake, may I suggest "Salander-ous" as a blog post title? :)
