Went shopping, bought films

I don't have high hopes for ROBIN HOOD, but it was only £6.

Boogie Nights! Interested if it looks any different than R1 BD.
Road To Perdition is still on my wishlist.
Y Tu Mama Tambien is rumored for a Criterion release this year (they just hinted at it, actually for the 2nd time, in their yearly hint cartoon. I have yet to see the film.

Looks like BOOGIE NIGHTS, for better or worse, is a direct port of the US BD, with some slight tweaks in the subtitles and cover art.

Cuarón's TAMBIÉN receiving the Criterion treatment would be nice. Hope his ambitious next film, GRAVITY, works out. Same goes for PTA, actually, what with him shooting 65mm on an old Kubrick camera and so forth...

I enjoyed Robin Hood. It has that Ridley Scott polish. And Max Von Sydow is on his usual good form. :)

BOOGIE NIGHTS is the only one of these films I've actually seen - years ago on TV, so I'm not sure if that even counts.

I actually already own Y TU MAMÁ TAMBIÉN on DVD - I picked it up several years ago for peanuts in a sale and never got round to watching it.

Shall do my best to go into ROBIN HOOD with an open mind. I've liked pretty much everything else I've seen by Scott, after all.

Boogie Nights is wonderful. Transfer is fine but nowt spectacular from what I recall. But the film is glorious!

Have you pre-ordered the 'Four Flies' BD from Shameless, will you review it?

You are in for a treat with Boogie Nights, I watched it again recently, I'd forgotten how funny it was.

Comparing the Boogie Nights Region A Blu-Ray with the DVD released back in 2000 (which at the time looked great) is a good example of how much better movies in HD are.
